oby melts my heart!

every time i press play i start laughing because he is absolutely the cutest hippo ever created. in my opinion of course, which is the only one that truly matters on my blog. after he catches his breath, he will eventually start running again, only to pass out when he crosses the finish line. be patient, my friend.

i've been working on oby's run cycle, but it's not done yet. after about 4 hours, there is still a lot of glitches to be worked out. be patient.

nostrils and teeth

in attempt to rig oby, i failed. miserably. the bones moved just fine, but alas, the skin just sat there, frozen in scarecrow mode. so. i decided to add nostrils and teeth to give him a more finished look. be patient, i'll get him moving soon. :D

oby the hippo

oby turntable take 1

this is oby's first turntable. i used an ambient occlusion to render, which explains the noise and the black and white image. i'm going to keep developing him so that he will look great receiving his gold medals in the animalympics. just wait and see!

photographic fruitions

our second studio project was to create a short animatic or animation. i took about 300 photographs of my GORGEOUS grand piano to create a video-like animation.  i also recorded the song "letter to sarah" by michael w smith for the soundtrack. enjoy.

"beautiful" storyboard

the idea is to take "video" a piano by taking hundreds of photographs and displaying them in sequence. the "film" will inspect the different parts of a piano.

turning on the imagination

for my first studio project, i had to create a logo, a tagline, and a signature for the word "visualization".  i demonstrated what three combinations of images by playing with color and scale.
